South Bay Japanese American Citizens League 2008 Scholarships
2008 Kiichi Egashira Memorial Scholarship
The South Bay JACL Kiichi Egashira Memorial Scholarships are open to those pursuing a degree in Physical and Biological Sciences, Engineering and/or Mathematics. Students must be a member of the South Bay JACL and attend one of the following high schools:
- Bishop Montgomery High School
- Mira Costa High School
- Narbonne High School
- North Torrance High School
- Palos Verdes High School
- Palos Verdes Peninsula High School
- Redondo Union High School
- San Pedro High School
- South Torrance High School
- Torrance High School
- West Torrance High School
In previous years, $500 to $2,000 scholarships were awarded to qualified applicants. Students are encouraged to see their scholarship advisor for more information.

Janice Kobata Zoeger Memorial Scholarship
The Janice Kobata Zoeger Memorial Scholarship is open to students of Japanese American ancestry residing in the South Bay JACL Chapter area. Scholarship applicants must be planning to attend a college or university in pursuit of a bachelor's degree or a graduate degree in any field of study relating to biological sciences, foreign and/or ancient language or business. Applicants must be a member of the South Bay JACL (membership application).

2008 National JACL Scholarship
The 2008 National JACL Scholarship is open to all majors. Information brochure and applications are now posted on the National JACL website site. The scholarship categories are Freshman, Undergraduate, Graduate, Law, Creative & Performing Arts, and Financial Aid. All Freshman applications must be submitted and postmarked by March 1, 2008 to your local JACL Chapter. All other college student applicants (excluding entering freshmen) must be postmarked and mailed to the JACL National Scholarship Committee by April 1, 2008.
